Any fish housed with Black Ghost Knifes should be at least as large as them and not prone to being agressive, anything too small will be eaten. Being nocturnal, they should be provided with plenty of cover to hide during the day as well as night feedings to ensure their food isn't eaten by diurnal tankmates. Sand or fine gravel is recommended as is a heavily planted tank. Black Ghost Knifes can become quite tame in time and have even been known to eat from their owner's hand.
